At the ripe age of 33, I am beginning to understand what many people claim on their deathbeds to be true. That life flies by much faster than you can imagine in your youthful years, and like a snowball, gains speed and momentum as it flies down the hill of life.
I am determined to make my life a tapestry of moments that I can remember. It's not that I think my life is particularly different to any one elses - but in the end, it's what we do with the moments that really count. I am struck by the famous line in Dead Poet's Society quoting Henry David Thoreau :
"I went into the woods because I wanted to live deliberately. I wanted to live deep and suck out all the marrow of life... to put to rout all that was not life; and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived. "
Indeed - I want to live my life in a way less ordinary. I must. I prefer the road less travelled.
That choice finds me at this time, in a remote province of Ratanakiri in Cambodia where I live with my husband of five years and my two children, Esther 3 and Tobias 2. We are here to share the love, hope and truth of Christ to a group of people who may have never ever heard of it.
And it's with that in mind that I have finally decided to begin a blog of my life, loves, faith, moments. I hope to try and blog as the mood takes me ... which I hope to be at least twice a week. So please read and enjoy. And let me know what you think too.
